Sigils
_A sigil is an empowered symbol that helps one accomplish a task. Sigils
are one of the easiest forms of strong magick for myself at least. The
process is simple and the effect can be powerful, depending on the skill
you apply when charging it.
This coincides with the Hermetic practices and beliefs so one may have to refer to previous articles for extra information.
Step one:
Grab yourself a piece of paper and write out a sentence stating what you want. Example: "I will have more energy throughout the day." Now, write out all the letters in order without repeating a letter, in this case, that sentence will look like this: "Iwlhavemorngytud" This sentence's meaning should be locked in your subconscious and it will mean something to you.
Step two:
Now make a sigil out of this by drawing out the letters in some sort of pattern. As in the picture below. If you look at it, you'll notice that all of the letters from the sentence are incorporated in it. One part of the symbol can stand for more than one letter.
Step three:
Now draw a shape around it that reflects your desire. For this case, we're wanting extra energy. A square symbolizes a balanced life. You need a balanced body and diet to get energy, so just put the symbol inside a square.
Step four:
Now it's time to charge it, go into your place of meditation, hold the sigil in front of you and think about the energy you need for it. We need energy, balance, so put in all elements or just the akasha or vital energy. Fill the sigil with this until you can feel it quite strongly. If you want to carry it around with you for it to work, keep that in mind. If you want to destroy it, keep that in mind. To destroy it and relinquish its power, you have to destroy it with the element you put in it. If it's purely a fire sigil, burn it, if water, soak it, earth, bury it, air, rip it up into the wind.
This is just a basic overview of how I do it and I generally don't destroy the sigils, it works quite well for me. One needs to research the metaphysical meanings of polygons such as stars, squares, circles, triangles, etc. Any questions? Just ask. Have a good day.
